A local family foundation is investing in the future of health-care education with a generous gift to òòò½ÎÑ. The Merrifield Family Foundation is donating $100,000 to the Our Students, Your Health campaign for a modern Health Sciences Centre on the College’s Kelowna campus. A $25,000 gift from the Okanagan Sikh Temple and Cultural Society will empower health care students as they pursue their education at òòò½ÎÑ. A nine metre (30 foot), hand-cut metal sculpture by local Indigenous artist Clint George is now installed and proudly on display in òòò½ÎÑ's new Health Sciences Centre. The sculpture represents the Four Food Chiefs, and depicts the Syilx Okanagan oral history (or captikʷɬ) on how food was given.
