How to apply for the Adult Upgrading Grant


The Adult Upgrading Grant (AUG) is a provincial government grant that you don’t have to pay back. Students enrolled in Adult Basic Education (ABE), Adult Special Education (ASE) and English Language (EL) are encouraged to apply.  If you are eligible for AUG, you could receive money to help pay for tuition and fees, supplies, transportation, unsubsidized childcare, and technology. 

Step-by-step instructions 

Step 1: Apply for AUG online.  Visit /financial-aid-and-awards/other-funding#aug to open the online application. 
 
Step 2: You can also download the PDF application form directly from StudentAid BC at .
 
Step 3: Complete the PDF form and email the completed form and required documents to upgradinggrants@okanagan.bc.ca.

Students are encouraged to submit the completed AUG application as soon as the semester starts to ensure funding is received to help pay for fees such as tuition and supplies.  Funding may be limited, so don’t wait to apply!

  • Proof of income (Notice of Assessment from previous year) for yourself and parent or spouse (if applicable).
