The heart of ’s Culinary Arts program reopens on Valentine’s Day
Culinary and Pastry Arts students are excited to welcome back fellow students, staff and the community to enjoy their culinary creations beginning on Feb. 14.
“I’m looking forward to having the community experience the food that we have been learning to create over the last four months,” said Culinary Arts student Chase Holman. “There’s nothing like seeing someone’s reaction when they’re enjoying food that you’ve personally prepared.”
For the past two years, Infusions has operated solely with take-out service in addition to providing meals for the Serves Up program, which provides meals for students experiencing food insecurity.
“Our class is tight knit and works well together,” added Culinary Arts student Claire Lind. “I’m looking forward to watching us work as a team as we experience the stress and excitement that will come from offering in-person dining. This will be such valuable experience for us as we move forward in the program.”
A large part of the students’ excitement with offering in-person dining is gathering with their loved ones and savouring a meal together. Student Shiloh Marriott recalls many of her fondest memories being family potlucks and relishing delicious foods together.
“I come from a large family, so for me food usually means people coming together,” said Marriott. “I have loved cooking since I was a kid and watching people’s reactions to my cooking has always been something I’ve loved, so I’m really looking forward to bringing this passion for food to the community.”
As of Feb. 14, Infusions will be open for in-person lunch and dinner service. To celebrate their grand re-opening of in-person dining, a special Valentine’s Day week menu will be available from Feb. 14 to 18. The menu offers three courses for $50 per person (wine and cocktails not included). To book a reservation, e-mail infusions@okanagan.bc.ca or call 250-862-5455.
